Our Pastor: Grace M. Scott
Pastor Grace M. Scott is a visionary, who under the command of God, and as an act of faith, began Truth, Grace and Mercy (TGM) Christian Church in the State of Georgia, on February 15, 2013. As the lead pastor of TGM, Pastor Scott preaches and teaches the importance of having faith as the foundation of our beliefs. Pastor Grace sees the congregation of TGM as a "people of faith" who is called to fulfill the vision of the house--which is--through faith--to meet the needs of the whole family.
Pastor Grace is a wise woman, who humbly leads with God's Truth, God's Grace, and God's Mercy. Her personal testimony is one of faith and therefore she pastors the people of God, that's been entrusted to her, in the same manner.
Pastor Grace is a woman of grace who's words and testimonies touches the hearts of people from all backgrounds. When she speaks, she draws from being educated in the public school systems of Fulton and Dekalb, Counties to graduating Cum Laude in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Education from Beulah Heights University of Divinity in Atlanta, GA. It's evident that she was called to teach by the piercing yet heart-warming illustrations she presents.
Pastor Grace is the eldest of five siblings born to the late Reverend Grady & Kate Lawrence. She has been serving in ministry for over 40 years--whether recording professionally at True Love Baptist Church, Atlanta, GA, a ministry founded by her father, or coordinating a GED program for the youth. Her two daughters: Renee Releford and Wendy Scott and 9 grandchildren serve with her in God's kingdom.
A Teacher
She earned a certification to teach Biblical studies from the Evangelical Training Association and was awarded membership into the Beta Eta Beta Kappa Honor Society for outstanding character and high scholastic achievement. Her leadership abilities were recognized and featured in the '2013' August edition of The Covington News while serving as Vice President Membership (VPM) for Toast Masters International Club in 2014.
A Preacher
Pastor Scott was ordained February 8, 1998, under the administration of her late Father and Pastor at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and has been preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ for twenty years. Throughout her years in ministry, she has faithfully served in various capacities lending her talents and gifts to Praise and Worship, Choir Director, Sunday School Teaching and Serving as an Associate Minister, and as a GED Coordinator.
Pastor Grace is a woman of God who always delivers a word that makes me look at myself in a deeper way. If you ask me, Pastor Grace's unique style of delivering the Word is what made me make that step. I drive an hour and a half to service because I believe I am worth it—my spiritual growth, my spiritual well-being—my joy, TGM is worth it!
Pastor Scott is a transparent, tell-it-like-it-is kind of preacher! She is full of faith, joy and excitement. Her testimony by itself is powerful enough to draw anyone in--She is Georgia's best kept secret. If you haven't detected it by now, Pastor Grace Scott is the reason I joined Truth, Grace & Mercy.
Pastor Grace is my Aunt and several of the members are my family members so this made it a little challenging for me to decide if TGM was the right church for me. After really seeking God in prayer for guidance, I had to look at what I really liked about TGM and when I did that the answer came easy.
